Hi, I’m Taiyo Tomita. I moved from Japan to Canada when I was 15, and it was here that I discovered my love for dates. Their rich taste, natural energy, and cultural significance instantly fascinated me.
When my business partner Abdulaziz Rouzi came to me with the idea of building a premium date brand, I couldn’t resist — it felt like the perfect blend of purpose and passion.
I’m currently attending university here in Canada, balancing studies and business as we grow Date Crown into a brand that celebrates heritage, health, and flavor.
At Date Crown, we’re not just selling dates — we’re sharing a tradition with every bite.


Abdulaziz Rouzi

Hi, I’m Abdulaziz Rouzi, and I’ve been surrounded by dates my entire life.
Growing up in a family deeply rooted in the date trade — from the markets of the UAE to the homes of our community — I developed not only a deep appreciation for this incredible fruit, but also a sense of responsibility to carry our tradition forward. Dates weren’t just a product to us; they were a symbol of hospitality, heritage, and health.
When I came to Canada, I saw a growing demand for authentic, high-quality dates — and a real opportunity to bridge cultures through food. So I brought the idea to my friend and now business partner, Taiyo Tomita, who immediately shared the same passion.
Together, as university students and entrepreneurs, we launched Date Crown to introduce Canadians to premium Middle Eastern dates — from Ajwa and Khalas to Khenaizi and Lulu — each one carefully selected for its unique flavor, texture, and story.
Our mission is simple: to deliver more than just a snack. We’re sharing a piece of tradition — a fruit with thousands of years of history — in a modern, meaningful way.

I’m Hamzah Yaiesh, and as the Marketing Director at Date Crown, my mission is simple: to share our story with the world — one date at a time.
With a background in branding and digital marketing, I’ve always been passionate about connecting people to products that have meaning. When Abdulaziz and Taiyo introduced me to the vision behind Date Crown, I instantly knew it was something special. This wasn’t just about selling dates — it was about representing culture, quality, and care in every box.
My role is to make sure that story shines through — whether it’s in our packaging, our campaigns, or our customer experience. From social media strategy to brand design, I work to ensure everything we do reflects the authenticity and heart behind Date Crown.
